Kindergarten is a time
for both work and play.
The children are involved
in a variety of experiences that are interesting, meaningful and developmentally
appropriate.
What appears to be fun,
is
in fact, manipulative learning.
The program provides
opportunities that offer rich literacy, math, social studies, and science experiences,
which facilitate the childrens social, emotional, intellectual and physical growth.
The basic skills of
reading, writing, speaking, math, science, art, music and physical education are taught
through an integrated curriculum approach.
The children are encouraged
to use and develop their language skills further through shared reading experiences, story
dictation, journal writing and center time.
Classrooms contain unit
blocks, art tables, science equipment, writing materials and a classroom library.
At the end of Kg2 the
students level of English would be close to the norm for a student in the United
States.
